Labyrinths started in nature. This book returns them there, exploring how they can be made in natural environs sensitively, in a way that is in tune with the land and which will bring healing energy to the location. Profusely illustrated, in this book all of the aspects of labyrinth creation you would may are carefully covered. 'We owe it to ourselves to walk on holy ground...'

The horror at the heart of the Maze of Knossos is apparent and real, a very few years into our future. As YouTubers invade a commercial cult for whom Good and Evil, God and Human are irrepairably blurred, no heroes can prevail - there is only a monster and its global audience, in the Red Room maze.

Within an obscure subset of manuscript labyrinths identified by Hermann Kern as Jericho Labyrinths, is a particular member with a most remarkable quality - it holds an embryonic labyrinth, or proto-labyrinth, within its seed pattern. Does this pregnant pattern lead us down a rabbit hole to meet fractal labyrinths?

The square pavement labyrinth from the ruined abbey of St Bertin in St Omer, France, is a staple go-to for striking historical labyrinth pics. So sharp, it looks modern. So unconventional, its date leaves us scratching our heads. As the only square Medieval Labyrinth in a family that is often circular, can it be shoehorned into circular form?

The quirky 16th century pavement of Bayeux Labyrinth, France, has within its pattern of charming painted tiles a strange pattern that is more of a link between the Classical and Medieval Labyrinth Families, than an acceptable member of the latter. Does it show an unique artistic flourish of design - or is it a botched installation in the Chapter Hose, its errors masked by pretty tiles?

As modern connoisseurs of visual symbols, the ancient structure and direction of movement provided by labyrinths is easy to overlook - as is how this motion links us back over thousands of years to uncountable others who traced the same path. This short piece is a nod to those invisible predecessors we meet in the labyrinth.

Could Classical and Rebound Labyrinths have been discovered several millennia past, by the chance act of throwing a stick upon a spiral drawn in the dirt and letting the resultant pattern's game of finger-motion, suggest the full beauty of the labyrinth's flow? This alternative argument for discovery of the labyrinth is presented here.

Within every maze, is a labyrinth; within every problem is a solution; within each nightmare, is an Escape door. This short piece notes how labyrinths historically and world-wide have been used to visually describe stories and myths that clearly referrred to mazes. Why do we gravitate towards labyrinths? What do they say, in shorthand?

Flames of Change (2006)
This is a very short piece I'm keeping alive for purely anecotal pleasure; written whilst travelling the world, it marked an auditable start for me of the workshop-providing, labyrinth-exploring pathway which then led to the many other publications and experiences alluded to on this site. Happy days!
